Gonzaga Climate Institute Receives Grant to Increase Wildfire Smoke Safety in Low Income Neighborhoods

Of the more than $10 million in grant money coming from the Biden-Harris Administration to combat extreme wildfire smoke pollution, $3.4 million is going toward aiding communities in Idaho, Oregon and Washington, including the Institute for Climate, Water, and the Environment at Gonzaga University, which was awarded $1.1 million of this total.

Gonzaga to Host Climate Change Candidate Forum Oct. 4

On Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 6 p.m., Gonzaga University’s Center for Climate, Society and the Environment will host a Spokane Candidates Climate Change Forum for the fifth consecutive year. The nonpartisan event welcomes candidates for mayor, city council president and three competitive city council races to take questions on a range of issues from Gonzaga students.
