The Supreme Court is hearing arguments regarding same-sex marriage this week.

People are citing religion as an influence shaping their position. 

Several religious groups joined forces last week on the other side, filing briefs that oppose gay marriage — one defending Proposition 8, and the other defending the Defense of Marriage Act. Those groups include the Southern Baptist Convention, the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
