To be a Christian is to be a hunter of love. Love is what Jesus brought by being with us in the flesh. Love is the moments of connection through shared goodwill that are present in everyday life. We must hunt for love and for Jesus. because Jesus said that when you are with the least of his kingdom, you are also with him.  We must go hunt. Maybe it’s meeting the eyes of the barista at Starbucks with a smile and connection, finding joy with the small boy on the bus as you head to work. We must be armed at all times for those moments of connection for Christ called us to love neighbor and God with all our hearts.

Love must be our context for the Christian life. Why is it such a small topic among Christians? Shouldn’t we be talking about love and what it is and how it is revealed in Christ in all, if not in the majority of our conversations? Looking at the Christian media, however, the topic is rare.

Maybe we Christians have to turn around and rediscover the power of love of by being with each other as Christ is with us. We need to pray for our enemies. We need to turn around from our own wanting and find love in the eyes of others as Jesus commands us.  It’s a lifetime challenge, but one worthy of a hunter of love.
