I’ve spent the last two days attending the world’s first-ever Feminist Mormon Girls Camp. Held in the Utah mountains, it’s been a gathering not just of teenage girls and their leaders, as is traditional for LDS Girls Camp (now called Young Women Camp), but whole families, including spouses and tiny tots.
Hundreds of teens are expected to fill the Spokane Convention Center later this month to celebrate their Catholic faith as part of the Steubenville Northwest Youth Conference.
The conference will be July 2-28. This year's theme is "Chosen" and will feature prayer, music, preaching and the sacraments, according to the Catholic Diocese of Spokane.
From the beaches of Athens to the dense vegetation of the jungle, adventures await in Vacation Bible Schools across Spokane. Activities include crafts, music, games, religious lessons, and, at one church with an animal cracker theme, a blessing of people’s pets.
