The Fig Tree, a Spokane-based ecumenical newspaper, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this spring with a slate of events including a lunch, breakfast-time benefit and gala dinner. 

This year’s Eastern Washington Legislative Conference entitled “Renewing Hope for the Future” will feature workshops on various issues that may help Spokane to better itself and its greater surrounding area.

The Fig Tree will conclude its 30th anniversary celebration on April 30 with a anniversary dinner featuring Michael Kinnamon, an educator, author about and leader in the ecumenical movement globally and nationally.
