A prominent activist in the Black Lives Matter movement, DeRay McKesson, on Thursday sued the chief of the Baton Rouge police department and other officials over the arrests of nearly 200 demonstrators during peaceful protests about police killings.
The local NAACP, Musicians Union, Peace & Justice Action League of Spokane, Sierra Club, Center for Justice and Greater Spokane Progress organizations, as well individuals from Spokane have organized a Black Lives Matter vigil, which will take place this weekend.
