By Christi Ortiz

Like crumbled pieces of glass,
we offer our broken lives to God.
We surrender the twists and turns,
the falls, the pits, the messes,
as well as the joys, the gifts, the beauty.
He sweeps them all up like precious treasures
careful not to leave out a single sliver.
He blesses them all with the Kiss of His Breath
and as His Spirit pours over the jumbled pile
they are brought together in wholeness.
With the glue of Mercy,
the broken pieces are made whole, holy.
Each piece is honored for its contribution
and when surrendered to the Hand of God,
begins to become a part of the pattern
of the One who Sees and Knows All.
The stained glass masterpiece is made from
the Master who pieces it together
and as He shines His Light through it,
it takes on an eternal dimension.
As each element becomes aglow with Love,
it radiates and sparkles with the Divine Light.
Every piece finds peace, afire with God,
finally Home.
