Immaculate Heart Retreat Center will host a Silent Day of Prayer led by Mark Shea on Jan. 27 titled, “Incarnation and Evangelization: Christ’s Mysteries in Our Lives.”
According to an announcement, “The Good News of the Gospel shows us the pattern of Christ’s life as reflected in our own lives. We get to look at the faith through the lens of the story of our own lives as they replicate the Paschal Mystery (Christ’s dying and rising). This beautiful and practical analysis forms the basis of the New Evangelization (the Good News of the Gospel) which is the old evangelization ready for this new time and place.”
Shea, originally from Everett, is an author, blogger, and speaker working in the field of Roman Catholic apologetics. He has been published in the Catholic World Report, New Oxford Review, The Door, Catholic Digest, and Christianity and Literature.
The Day of Prayer begins with a Rosary at 9 a.m., includes two conferences, lunch, the sacrament of Reconciliation and Mass. The Day of Prayer will close with adoration. Cost is $38 per person and includes lunch, (or $48 which also includes use of a private room for the day). Register in advance by calling (509)448-1224 or register online at www.ihrc.net
