Immaculate Heart Retreat Center will be offering an icon-writing retreat/workshop July 11 – July 17.  The retreat, “Byzantine Iconography-Visions of Light and Glory” will be led by the Rev. Damian Higgins, an artist and iconographer.

During this retreat, iconographer Damian will guide retreatants through a particular prayer process.

“The importance is in the process,” Damian said in a press release, “We are careful how we use materials, that are also all-natural and organic. This brings closeness to the earth and respect for all things of the earth as well as to the sanctified person whose image we are creating.”

Guests are asked to wear comfortable clothing to this retreat. The cost of all materials is included. No prior art experience is needed, however space is limited. A $100 deposit required in advance. Cost for this retreat is $650 for five full days (includes supplies).

Register in advance by calling (509)448-1224, or online at www.IHRC.net
