BRIEF: UGM Men’s Shelter has increase in guests, needs immediate items

The Union Gospel Mission Men’s Shelter had 175 guests checked in as of 8 p.m. Thursday night. According to UGM, this is approximately 40 men over average for this time of year.

UGM reports that resources are being stretched, and could use the community’s immediate help with three basics: pajamas, razors and deodorant.

“We like to give each man a pair of clean pajamas to sleep in each night, but we are nearly out, and last week, some men were having to sleep in their street clothes,” UGM stated in an announcement.

Large/XL/XXL sizes are needed.

To help drop items off at the shelter, 1224 E. Trent Ave.
