Gonzaga University will celebrate its second annual National Gonzaga Day on Jan. 25 – when Zag Nation gathers in person and in spirit to rejoice in the impact of Gonzaga’s mission, according to a press release. The Gonzaga Alumni Association is hosting 37 events worldwide from Spokane to Calgary, Alberta to Tokyo, rallying around the men’s basketball game that tips at 7 p.m. in the Kennel against Brigham Young University. The women are also in action that day, playing at Pepperdine at 2 p.m. The day begins with a student midnight Mass on Mulligan Field in the middle of “Tent City.”
This year’s event is themed “Global Education, Global Celebration” and highlights the many aspects of global education at Gonzaga and the impact GU students have in the world.
This global theme will be shared in multiple ways: through a special halftime show streamed live on the web, by Gonzaga ambassadors attending many of the 30-plus events nationwide, and in a special video that will debut Jan. 25. Once again, a service component will be a part of events.
