Bart D. Ehrman, author of “Misquoting Jesus,” “Jesus Interrupted” and other New York Times bestsellers will be speaking in Spokane later this month.

His free lecture, sponsored by Eastern Washington University and the Daniel and Margaret Carper Foundation, will be at 6:30 p.m., May 23, at the The Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox, 1001 W. Sprague Ave. A book signing will follow.

Ehrman has authored more than 20 books and is a distinguished professor of religious studies at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and is a leading authority on the New Testament and the history of early Christianity.

I’ve read some of his books and listened to many of his lectures, so I’m looking forward to hearing him speak also.
