Florence Reed, Sustainable Harvest International founder and president and Woodrow Wilson Fellow, will give the first lecture of Whitworth’s 57th annual Great Decisions Lecture Series Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Robinson Teaching Theatre of Whitworth’s Weyerhaeuser Hall.

Matthew Kaemingk, a 2003 Whitworth alum, recently founded the online journal, Christ & Cascadia, which focuses on Christianity in the Pacific Northwest.

Author and activist Peggy McIntosh will present a lecture, “Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack: Privilege, Education, and the Vision of Achieving Inclusion,” at Whitworth University on Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. in the Robinson Teaching Theatre in Weyerhaeuser Hall.

Whitworth University has been awarded a $1 million grant from the Lilly Endowment to fund a new comprehensive church engagement initiative called The Ekklesia Project.

Prolific author and world traveler Daniel Taylor will present “Telling Stories to your Inner Atheist: Faith and Skepticism in a Postmodern World” at Whitworth on Nov. 1, at 7 p.m. in the Robinson Teaching Theatre in Weyerhaeuser Hall.

Whitworth University political science professor, Julia Stronks, will present her third Lindaman Chair lecture, “Civil Rights for the Gay Community and Religious Freedom: Avoiding a Constitutional Clash," tonight at 7 p.m. at Whitworth University in the Robinson Teaching Theatre in Weyerhaeuser Hall.

In October Whitworth Theatre will feature “The Wakefield Mysteries," a series of medieval mystery plays based on stories from the Bible.
