Meet journalism intern Madison Garner

Madison Garner is a sophomore at Whitworth University where she is majoring in journalism and mass communication.

BRIEF: Whitworth Choir to tour Norway’s historic cathedrals this spring

The Whitworth Choir will tour Norway for two weeks, beginning May 20. The students will perform at Oslo Cathedral, Roros Church, Trondheim’s Our Lady’s Church, Egersund Church and the Stavanger Cathedral, which is the oldest cathedral in Norway, dating back to the 12th century.

Whitworth President Beck A. Taylor has been elected to the board of directors of the Association of Presbyterian Colleges and Universities.

Lecture series begins by examining how U.S. views Muslim world

Whitworth University kicked off its annual Great Decisions lecture series on Thursday night by examining how Americans view the Muslim world.

BRIEF: Longtime CBS correspondent Lawrence Pintak to present lecture on “The U.S. and the Muslim World”

Lawrence Pintak, who has been called the foremost chronicler of the interaction between Arab and Western media, will give the first lecture of Whitworth University’s 56th annual Great Decisions Lecture Series. Pintak is a former Middle East correspondent for CBS News and the founding dean of Washington State University’s Edward R. Murrow School of Communication. His lecture, “The U.S. and the Muslim World,” will take place Feb. 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the Robinson Teaching Theatre in Whitworth’s Weyerhaeuser Hall.

BRIEF: Professor to discuss the Christian perspective on immigration reform

On the heels of the Supreme Court’s ruling on the controversial Arizonan immigration law, Whitworth Political Science Professor Julia Stronks will present her second Lindaman Chair lecture, "Christian Perspectives on Immigration Reform," on Nov. 14, at Whitworth University.
