Though openly LGBTQ affirming, Natalie Drew is a member of the Christian Reformed Church, a denomination that voted in 2022 and again in 2023 to codify its opposition to homosexual sex. But Drew, a lesbian, has no plans to leave her congregation.

Pacifism seeks to break the cycle of violence by non-resistance to violence, believing that if enough people refuse to become violent in response to violence the world will become peaceful.

It's about redirecting, evading, and actually caring about the welfare of your opponent.

This has been the Achilles heel of pacifism for me. It’s the realization that in the end, everyone looks for relief from suffering. When people are pressed to the end and have no hope of saving themselves, they scream for others to rescue them. The reality of self-preservation has kept the human species alive.
