It was with feelings of inclusion and community that Temple Beth Shalom, for the first time, hosted members of the Spokane Islamic Center on Friday for a musical Shabbat, a potluck dinner and Islamic prayers.

Join us for the next Meet the Neighbors on May 20 for an introduction to the Spokane Islamic Center.

The Meet The Neighbors series, presented by SpokaneFāVS and the Spokane Interfaith Council, will continue this month with a chance to meet Spokane’s Hindu community.

Season two of Meet the Neighbors will kick off at 6 p.m., Jan. 26 at Bethel AME Church, 645 S Richard Allen Court.

The Spokane Interfaith Council will continue its six-month Spokane religious landscape tour on April 21 at the Davenport Hotel by introducing the local Baha'i community.

The Spokane Interfaith Council's Meet The Neighbors series will continue on March 31 with a visit to The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E 12th Ave.

Ayesha Malik, a local Muslim and member of the Spokane Interfaith Council, said ethnic diversity isn't Spokane’s strong suit.
