Religious Persecution Explained in New Report about Countries with Worst Religious Freedoms

Religious freedom is priceless to Fereshteh Momeni. This is why she appreciates the information in the 2023 U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) report that identifies countries with the worst religious freedoms.

“This event is important because the topic of human trafficking is often misunderstood and unrecognized,” said Abigail Dougherty, chair of the Task Force and a crime victim advocate with LCSNW. “It provides an opportunity for the community to learn more about what trafficking looks like in their area as well as how it is being addressed.”

The Inland Northwest Human Trafficking Task Force and Lutheran Community Services (LCS) invites the community to participate in their first Human Trafficking Awareness Month Training and Reception gathering since COVID-19 on Jan. 11. Aside from the Human Trafficking training session, the program will take place in nxʷyxʷyetkʷ Hall on the third floor of the Central Library.

Whitworth students to celebrate anti-trafficking efforts with block party

The Associated Students of Whitworth University will be celebrating their year-long efforts against human trafficking by hosting a fundraising for Lutheran Community Services Northwest next month.

The event will include benefit concerts by Barcelona and He Is We, small stage performances by local artists, and outdoor games, such as a basketball tournament and relay race, according to a press release.
