This Saturday, Dec. 2, a mini-retreat on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius will be held in the Chapel of the Three Companions at Gonzaga Preparatory School, from 9 to 11 a.m. The event is free, open to the public and no registration is necessary.
On Oct. 7, I had the privilege of witnessing Gonzaga University President Thayne McCulloh and Gonzaga Prep President Al Falkner sign the St. Francis Pledge to Care for Creation and the Poor, making the Catholic and Jesuit schools partners in the national movement for faithful action on climate change.
On Monday Gonzaga University and Gonzaga Prep came together to publicly sign the St. Francis Pledge to Care, which Brian G. Henning, co-chair of Gonzaga’s Advisory Council on Stewardship and Sustainability, said reflects the institutions Jesuit mission to care for the planet and those living in poverty.
Today the Rev. C. Hightower is packing up his University Ministry office in the Crosby Student Center at Gonzaga University.
After five years of guiding students, teaching, and being the Jesuit face at the Zag basketball games, Hightower leaves next week for his new position as superior in Sacramento, Calif.
