The Friends of Sravasti Abbey will be holding a rummage sale at Unity Church Aug. 11 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Monies earned will go toward the abbey's grocery fund.

Venerable Thubten Chodron, abbess and founder of Sravasti Abbey, will give a talk on "Selflessness" at Sharing the Dharma Day, Aug. 5, at the abbey.

The program begins at 9:45 and newcomers are welcomed, according to a press release.

Christ Kitchen is seeking local artists willing to donate artwork to its 2012 annual luncheon, which will be held Oct. 29.

The theme of the event will be Living Water, based on the story of the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4).

The Tibetan Buddhist tradition has produced many meditation masters and teachers (lamas), but women are rarely recognized among their ranks. Her Eminence Dagmo Kusho Sakya (known as Dagmola) is an exception.

The Spirit Center Monastery of St. Gertrude in Cottonwood, Idaho will host "Gardening of the Soul: Holistic Living" from July 20-22.

According to a press release the retreat will focus on how "soul gardening" can contribute to healthy living and attendees will explore concepts of holistic living through music, nutrition, art and movement.

"Everything must change; nothing stays the same."  Many artists have recorded this popular song, and most people accept this.
