Catholics give Mary high honor and reverence due to her place in salvation history as, literally, the Mother of God.

When one or both married individuals enter the Catholic Church, sometimes it is necessary for the couple to have their marriage “convalidated” — or, “blessed” — in order to be recognized as a marriage by the church.

Very often, what the Church means by “infallibility” is confused with “impeccability.”

While anyone, Catholic or not, are permitted and encouraged to attend Mass as often as they like, non-Catholic Christians are not permitted to receive the Eucharist under nearly every circumstance, and non-Christians are not permitted to receive at all.

What the church has yet to define infallibly, however, is when the universe was created. So, technically, Catholics can be “Creationists” and believe the universe was created 6,000 years ago in six 24-hour days, or believe the universe was created 13 billion years ago at the Big Bang, just as long as they ascribe to the belief that God created the universe out of nothing and willed all creation into existence one way or the other.
