BRIEF: Magic Lantern documentary focuses on hunger in the U.S.

"A Place at the Table," a documentary focusing on hunger in the U.S., will open at the Magic Lantern on Friday, which happens to also be World Water Day.

The documentary will play for a week, unless attendance demands it stays in the theater longer.

BRIEF: “The Crucible” to open in Post Falls

"The Crucible" opens March 7 at the Jacklin Arts and Culture Center in Post Falls and will continue through March 16.

Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. on March 7, 8, 9, 14, 15 and 16 and at 2 p.m. on March 10 and 17.

This year the Whitworth Theatre Department’s spring production is the docudrama “The Laramie Project.”

“The Laramie Project” is based on the death of Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyo., in October, 1998.
