Chabad of Spokane County is inviting the Spokane area community to join them in a Purim event on March 5.
“Purim in France” is a way to celebrate Purim in solidarity with the French Jewish community, according to an announcement.
Purim is a holiday commemorating the deliverance of the Jews by Queen Esther from a massacre plotted by the Persian vizier Haman. It’s typically celebrate by dressing in colorful costumes and with humorous skits.
The Chabad event will include French cuisine, arts and crafts, a Klezmer band, face painting, a multimedia Megliah reading and a caricaturist.
“Purim in France” will be from 5-7 p.m., March 5, at the Women’s Club of Spokane, 1428 W. 9th. Cost is $15. RSVP by calling (509) 443-0770 or by emailing [email protected].
