Grieving has a lot to say about living.
First, grief is inevitable and is actually a part of living. Life begins and life ends and grieving is what we do for the latter. They aren’t mutually exclusive, but actually belong together.
Another thing we can learn from grieving is that it actually promotes growth and finalizes our sorrows. One of the leading causes of chronic depression is unresolved grief. Grieving is unpleasant to say the least, but it forces us to acknowledge our losses and start to recreate a worldview that lets us continue on in spite of such losses. Without grief, every single person would be carrying around every piece of emotional luggage that they’ve acquired and would never be able to let go. Everyone would be crushed underneath their own psyche’s.
Grieving not only teaches us about living, but also teaches us how to live essentially.
