The purpose of Labor Day was to honor the unions and labor movement in the United States. It came after bloody battles fought to bring living wages and benefits many of us take for granted.

Today I take time to remember and to be thankful for the benefits I have received and to acknowledge all those who are still working without them in the United States and around the world.

I take time to be grateful.
I ask, “How can I help?”
And pray…
“May all beings be happy
May all beings be peaceful
May all beings be free”
