I am not sure I could give an exact definition of “soul”. No doubt, there are as many interpretations as there are thinking people. I do know that I relate to animals, as well as trees, plants, even rocks as though they are a sensitive, alive beings. To me all have God-nature or Buddha-nature and as best as I can, I treat them with kindness and respect.
