With the current fires in the Pacific Northwest there have people of many different faith traditions coming together knowingly and unknowingly in prayer. Through a compassionate desire to help those who have lost homes, who are fighting the fires, and are otherwise involved individuals, congregations and tribes have prayed for an end to the suffering of humans and the earth. Through words, song, dance, movement and silence the prayers have been sent to the form or formless God/Spirit of their faith path.

Was the recent shift in weather, the rain, and general cooling trend an “answer” to prayers or is it simply a natural shift? Certainly there are opinions along the continuum with absolute faith at one end and pure science at the other but I cannot help believe that this outpouring of prayer, an uplifting of consciousness was significant in this shift.

At any rate I am grateful, the earth is grateful, and I’m sure all who are directly and indirectly affected by this shift are grateful.

Thanks for this Toni. It’s beautiful to stop and think that so many of us were praying for the same thing in our own sacred way!
