Tonight Temple Beth Shalom will honor Holocaust educators at its Yom HaShoah service.
Yom HaShoah, (Holocaust Remembrance Day), is a time to commemorate the approximate six million Jews who died in the Holocaust.
John Roth, founding director of the Center for the Study of the Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights at Claremont McKenna College, will be the keynote speaker.
The service will also include a reading of the winning high school and middle school entries in the Eva Lassman Memorial Creative Writing Contest, a children’s candle processional, a candle lighting ceremony and music by the Spokane Youth Symphony and Dan Baumgarten.
The Yom HaShoah service will begin at 7 p.m. at the temple, 1322 E. 30th Ave.
