Immaculate Heart Retreat Center will be holding a Weekend Retreat for Men and Women on May 20-22 titled, “Attaining Interior Freedom and Peace in the School of the Holy Spirit.” The retreat will be led by the Rev. Jacques Philippe.
At the retreat Phillippe will, “Describe simple and concrete ways to live in docility to the Holy Spirit by removing obstacles to interior freedom and peace. He illustrates how to be open to the Holy Spirit’s guidance, allowing the Spirit to illuminate and strengthen our hearts,” according to a press release.
Philippe, born in France, studied mathematics in college and spent several years teaching and doing scientific research. In 1976, he entered the Community of the Beatitudes and then spent several years in Jerusalem and Nazareth immersing himself in the study of Hebrew and the Jewish roots of Christianity. He studied theology and Canon Law in Rome, and worked as spiritual director and in the formation of priests. He is a retreat master and has consolidated his principal retreat themes into five books on spirituality.
The weekend begins with registration on Friday at 6 p.m. and extends through lunch on Sunday. Retreat cost is $196 per person, $302 for couples (includes meals and overnight), and $110 for commuters (no overnights).
