Branded by God

With so many voices shouting out
“This is who you must be”
“This is what you must do”

In the sea of noise and confusion
there is an anchor that holds me firm
a quiet voice that echoes out,

“This is who you are”
For I have been branded by God,
my Baptism an indelible mark upon my soul

that reminds me
I am a beloved child of God
called by name

So no matter how long or how far
I wander on this earthly journey
it will lead me, call me Home
