Gonzaga University will mark the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola, in honor of the founder of the Society of Jesus, with a noon Mass on, July 31 in the University Chapel located in College Hall. The Rev. Alan Yost, S.J. will celebrate the Mass, which is open to the public, according to a press release.

St. Ignatius, a soldier-turned-mystic, founded the Society of Jesus in the 16th century. The Jesuit order is now present in about 112 countries worldwide with more than 17,000 priests and brothers — the largest male religious order in the Catholic Church.
