“The absence of biblical teaching on abortion is one of the big reasons that the Christian movement has historically kept room for a broad range of opinions on this subject.”

Father Knows Best: How can I say I believe in God, and my decision to have an abortion?
Martin, it pleases me to finally see an answer to those who use the Bible and so called Word of God arguments to support their often unfeeling responses to our sisters who must contemplate abortion. While life is clearly a value in the Bible, it is not the only one, and does not automatically prohibit abortion. Most anti-abortionists must redefine (or personally interpret) definitions of the term to mean murder. a questionable tactic. I don’t like abortion, and also realize that for some it may be their best option. I can only live my life and can’t live theirs. and since I am male, it is not my decision, either to make or even influence. It is a medical procedure that the state has no right to prohibit. Grief, self doubt, and socially imposed guilt are present, and you handle those with an exquisite delicacy. Thank you.
