This fall Gonzaga University’s School of Leadership Studies will present a women’s leadership luncheon titled “The Power of Shame” as part of its Women Lead conference series designed to educate and empower women

The event will be Nov. 1 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the Hemmingson Center Ballroom.

Rachelle Strawther, director of leadership training & development for the School of Leadership Studies, will present the keynote address. According to a press release, the goal of the presentation is to help attendees identify obstacles that hold people back from becoming their best selves.

“Strawther will discuss how shame can get in the way of new opportunities, lock us to past experiences, and compel us to carry burdens unnecessarily. She will explain how shame shows up in our lives (particularly in relationship to gender), how to disarm it, and how to communicate without shaming others,” the press release reads.

The luncheon, which is open to people of all genders.

Cost is $39 until Oct. 26 and includes lunch. For more information, visit www.gonzaga.edu/womenlead or call Sherri Lynch at (509) 313-3684. Those interested in attending are asked to register by Oct. 26 at www.gonzaga.edu/womenlead.

If everyone who reads and appreciates FāVS, helps fund it, we can provide more community news like this. For as little as $5, you can support FāVS – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.[give_form id=”53376″ show_title=”true” display_style=”button”]
