On April 11 the Spokane Buddhist Temple will hold a workshop, "Transition Into Buddhism," lead by the Rev. Gerald Nakamoto, of San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin.
Forty people of all ages sit around craft tables in the basement of Spokane Buddhist Temple on Perry Street, surrounded by plates of sushi and baskets of colorful origami paper. They’re gathered for the temples One Thousand Cranes event, a kickoff to Spokane’s 22nd Annual Japan Week happening April 17-26.
The Rev. Kodo Hiromichi Umezu, bishop of the Buddhist Churches of America, will give a Dharma talk at 10:30 a.m., Jan. 11 at The Spokane Buddhist Temple, 927 S. Perry.
