During our recent stay with family in Honolulu, it rained most days. This was fine with my wife and I as we then took the time to learn a bit about Hawaii’s birds, people and mahu power.
I agree that in general, classrooms shouldn't be a place to push a particular political ideology or campaign. However, simply being gay in school isn't a political campaign. It's a recognition that a teacher's classroom is a safe place for gay kids. If that's political to you, even if the teacher never once mentions a political candidate, you've probably got a problem with the existence of the gay kids.

On Thursday, (Oct. 17), at 7 p.m. at the Bing Crosby Theater, they, along with local church, Branches, invite the community to listen to three speakers as they share their stories on how they reconciled their Christian faith with an affirming posture toward the LGBTQ community.
He will also share insights from his latest book, “Holy Sexuality and the Gospel: Sex, Desire, and Relationships Shaped by God's Grand Story,” and will speak about how evangelical Christians can do a better job engaging on this topic and sharing Christ to those in the LGBTQ+ community.
