Longtime Vice Principal Derek Duchesne will be the 20th principal in Gonzaga Preparatory School’s history. He will begin his new role July 1.

Today The Rev. James Martin — perhaps the most well known Jesuit besides Pope Francis — will give Gonzaga University’s 1,146 graduating seniors advice that’s “short and practical.”

About 1 million people are expected to descend upon Philadelphia for this weekend’s papal visit. Among them are five Spokane high schoolers.

Gonzaga University’s “Jesuits and the Arts” series will continue with two upcoming exhibitions at the Jundt Art Museum.

Gonzaga University will host an interdisciplinary conference Feb. 7-8 celebrating the work of Jesuit scholar and teacher Walter J. Ong, considered among the foremost theorists of rhetoric in the 20th century.
