U.S. service members are using the hashtag #IWillProtectYou to show support for a young Muslim girl who believed her family would be forced to flee following Donald Trump’s call to ban Muslims from the country.

Politicians and pundits on both sides of the political aisle have soundly criticized Trump for his proposal. Additionally, others have weighed in with the obligatory calls to murder Trump and his supporters.

New polls show that more and more Americans hold negative views of Islam and Muslims.

A war of words is waging in the United States. After the uprising of the Islamic State worldwide, U.S. politicians have used fiery language to threaten the extremist group. But those same statements have also induced fear and hate against another group: Muslims.

Even though their motives are still unclear, one thing that is clear and that continues to be reported is that they were Muslims.

Muslim Americans fear their religion will be demonized and Islamophobia will spread after a young Muslim couple was accused of carrying out one of the bloodiest mass killings in the United States.
