Some of the best theological conversations I have occur on the porch steps outside Holy Trinity's sacristy. There, various homeless people tend to hang out drinking morning beer or waking up on our heated walkway.
Christmas came a few days early for 100 of Spokane’s low income and homeless residents on Wednesday evening, where volunteers served a warm holiday meal, Santa brought presents and children performed in an off-the-cuff pageant.
The guests come to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church weekly for the Dinner Table, where volunteers know them by name and serve them a homemade meal.
Each week between 80 and 100 people come together in West Central Spokane for a warm, free family-style meal. The Dinner Table is a ministry organized by Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and on Oct. 27 a fundraiser will be held for the program.
The Spokane Islamic Center invites the community to celebrate the end of Ramadan with them on Sunday. An Eid-ul-Fitr prayer will be held at 10 a.m. and will be followed with a community potluck.
