The Sierra Club will be hosting a public hearing on Oct. 28 to discuss oil and coal train safety.
According to an announcement, this month the club has the opportunity to engage state leaders about the impacts of oil and coal transport in local communities and waterways. Gov. Jay Inslee is doing a study to assess the risks of oil transportation in Washington, and is giving the public a chance to comment at a series of public hearings.
The hearing will be at 6 p.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel. A pre-hearing rally will be at 5 p.m. at Riverfront Park Rotary Fountain.
