On Dec. 19, the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist held a vigil to honor the Newtown shooting victims.

There, Bishop James Waggoner, of the Episcopal Diocese of Spokane, said the world needs to respond by, “by remembering those who have died, those who are suffering loss and the one who committed such a heinous act in our ongoing prayers.”

He added that being there in spirit, matters to the Connecticut families.
