We are rapidly moving toward the shortest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere (Dec. 21). Although we know the physics of why the length of days change on a regular basis we continue to participate in ancient traditions, ancient ceremony, that celebrate the miracle of light and carry hope of its return. These ceremonies and traditions were created to touch the very core of our being, that part of us that knows we are supported by a force greater than ourselves.
What traditions do we as individuals carry forward to remind us of the season?
I do something once it’s an action,
Twice it’s interesting,
Three times makes it a tradition.
