Tracy Simmons is the editor and community manager of favs.news, an online resource for non-sectarian coverage of religion and spirituality in the Spokane, WA area. She’s worked the “religion” beat for about a decade, in both print and online capacities. And she’s won several awards for her work, including the 2009 American Academy of Religion’s first place award for best in-depth reporting on religion, and the 2011 Religion Newswriters Association’s Schachern Award for Online Religion Section of the Year.
As a part of our “Many Voices” Q&A series, we had the fortunate opportunity to ask Tracy Simmons a few questions:
Progress Planet: What do you do for a living? (if, that is, you’re not making a living off of blogging!)
Tracy Simmons: I am currently the editor of favs.news, which is an online publication that covers faith news in the Spokane, WA area. We do this through daily news coverage, multimedia and bloggers. I don’t actually blog, but edit the posts that my 42 bloggers submit.
