On Dec. 26, the Spokane Chapter of the American Guild of Organists will present its second “Christmas Carol Walk,” hosted by three downtown churches. This will feature Christmas organ music, carols, enjoy festive decorations, and  “relaxed day-after-Christmas hospitality,” according to a press release.

The event begins at 2 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church, 518 West 3rd Ave, with organist Taylor Giese playing preludes, postlude, and accompanying the carol sing. At 2:30 p.m. the walk continues to Westminster Congregational United Church of Christ, 411 South Washington, where organists Debby McConnell and Tom Jefferson will play, and the church’s music director Verne Windham will lead the singing. The walk will then proceed to Central Lutheran Church, 512 South Bernard, where organist Alice Hostetter will play and director of music Paul Brueggemeir will lead the carols.

Refreshments will be provided at Central Lutheran Church, prepared by members of the Spokane Chapter, American Guild of Organists. The public is invited to all or part of this Christmas Walk. It is suggested that attendees park under the freeway across from Westminster Congregational UCC.
