We lit the Advent wreath at home through December. Now in my home, I’m trying to genuinely keep Advent and let Christmas be its own thing. My family also is an open-gifts-on-Christmas-Eve crew, which means we go to church late at night.

One funny little tradition we have kept for years on Christmas Eve is eating shrimp cocktail. As a girl I thought it was just a random choice, and later learned it was the leftovers from my dad’s office party! Oh, traditions.
