FāVS News Brief

The Spokane NAACP received surveillance camera images during New Year’s weekend showing a person in what appears to be Ku Klux Klan attire in Colbert.

The images, originally shared in a neighborhood Facebook group, were forwarded to the civil rights organization from community members.

“Anyone who feels compelled to wear what appears to be a KKK costume is either aligning themselves with bigotry or attempting to intimidate,” said Branch President Lisa Gardner in a press release.

The organization plans to contact Spokane police ahead of the upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Rally and March to request additional security. Officials ask anyone with information to contact local authorities.
