Like a detective that searches for clues everywhere
I want to be attuned to the touch of God in all things

Like the criminal that leaves his trace wherever he goes
So too, God’s fingerprints are on everything he touches

Do I perceive the touch of God in every leaf and petal,
Each bird’s song and every crawling creature?

Am I aware of God’s goodness
in a person who acts out of brokenness

Am I misled by God present
in the disguise of those I despise?

Do I notice the invisible fingerprints of God
on all around and within me?

When the sky is dark and bleak
do I hunt down the mystery?

When all leads seem cold
do I persist in Faith?

Refusing to despair a state of affair
that appears devoid of the Divine?

Knowing God is present
even when shrouded in Mystery
