On Dec. 26 the Spokane Chapter of the American Guild of Organists will present its third “Christmas Church Walk and Carol Sing,” hosted by three South Hill and downtown churches.
At this event guests can hear Christmas organ music, sing carols, enjoy festive decorations, and experience relaxed day-after-Christmas hospitality, according to a press release.
It will begin at 2 p.m. at Manito Presbyterian Church, 401 East 30th Avenue, with organist Helen Byrne, along with Leonard Byrne on euphonium, playing preludes, postlude, and accompanying the carol sing. At approximately 2:30 p.m. participants will drive to Westminster Congregational United Church of Christ, 411 South Washington, where Verne Windham, the church’s music director will lead the singing and Janet Satre Ahrend will be the organist. At 3:15 p.m. the program moves to Central Lutheran Church, 512 South Bernard, where music will be led by Paul Brueggemeier, with Alice Hostetter at the organ.
The program is free and open to the public.
