Tracy Simmons recently alerted me that I have published 80 columns with FāVS. That means I’ve been a column collaborator with FāVS for a number of years. And that pleases me!

In March 2025, I took my FāVS writing from Sandpoint, Idaho, over to the Portland, Oregon, area so we could be close to our family. That simply means I’ve been spreading the good news of FāVS to many people who had no idea what FāVS is about.

I’ve shared FāVS’ website with other clergy who respond to the thoughtful and provocative columns we all read on a daily basis. I’ve also passed along FāVS’ good news efforts to a good number of lay persons who enjoy learning that interfaith efforts are strongly supported in the Inland Northwest.

This is simply to suggest three things: 1) Even my simple sharing of FāVS beyond the Inland Northwest may become a valuable expansion effort; 2) FāVS could be on its way to being a valuable Pacific Northwest religion news source; 3) Another part-time religion reporter with FāVS will be a significant step in that expansion.

I know $15,000 is a big ask for Tracy and the Board of Directors to put out to FāVS readership. But it’s likely this value will extend beyond that dollar amount. I hope you will consider making either an extra donation, or begin a new giving pattern on behalf of FāVS.

For example, please consider doing what I’ve been doing for a number of years: a sustained monthly contribution. Each month, FāVS can count on my contribution, so the budget makers can be confident in their work. As can Tracy and the Board. If you’ve not considered a sustaining membership before, I hope you will during this campaign

Not only can the $15,000 goal be met this way. The future operations of FāVS can be expanded and improved with confidence.

Thank you,
Paul Graves
