Today we respect the military personnel, if not the war, and welcome them as heroes. Tonight at at 7 p.m. we have the opportunity to welcome home a special group of vets, a group that has suffered with post traumatic shock disorder, to varying degrees for varying lengths of time.
The Rev. Todd Eklof, of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Spokane, this week announced his intentions to launch a campaign to increase the military enlistment age to 25, citing scientific evidence in human biology, developmental psychology, and brain science which shows it takes until at least age 25 for a brain to fully develop.

Tibetan Buddhist nuns from Sravasti Abbey, the Buddhist monastery outside of Newport, will begin a new series of meditation classes at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Spokane, beginning Aug. 12
Classes will be weekly on Mondays from 6:30-8:00 p.m through Sept. 16.
