Freedom of speech and religion are two central tenets of democracy in America, Washington Gov. Jay Inslee said at Friday press conference for journalism students at Gonzaga University.
Inslee, sitting cross-legged on the floor among a group of men, speaks after the prayer is over. “In our state, there are no others,” he said. “There are only Washingtonians.”
The Sierra Club will be hosting a public hearing on Oct. 28 to discuss oil and coal train safety.
According to an announcement, this month the club has the opportunity to engage state leaders about the impacts of oil and coal transport in local communities and waterways.
