The Rev. Stephy Noble-Beans — Whitworth University’s associate chaplain for the diversity, equity and inclusion ministry — will retire in May. But she won’t be leaving without one final musical concert.

Whitworth University is joining with local churches to host its 19th annual Gospel Explosion on Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. in the university’s Seeley G. Mudd Chapel.

"How many of you are ready to praise the Lord?," Stephy Nobles-Beans said to a chapel filled with Spokane church-goers and Whitworth University students.
